As in previous years, George ran a competition with local primary schools to design his Christmas card. Seventeen schools entered, which is a record. Local children really rose to the challenge with some fabulous artwork. As always, the panel of judges had a very difficult task.
This year’s winner was eight year old Olivia Simmons, of Trewirgie County Junior School. Her card features a festive design with a Cornish theme, including the greeting “Nadelik Lowen”, meaning “Merry Christmas” in Cornish.
George said “Every year, I am hugely impressed by the quality of the artwork produced. This year was no exception, and picking a winner proved to be very difficult for the judging panel but we liked the Cornish theme and the attention to detail on Olivia's card."
