Bathing waters across Cornwall have scored a 100% pass rate against tougher new standards for the third consecutive year.
The figures judge beaches against targets introduced in 2015, which are twice as tough as the previous regime. Over the summer, Environment Agency officer have been out at over 400 designated bathing waters across the country, recording the quality of the waters. In good news for residents of Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, all of our waters have been classified as excellent. This means that our waters are among some of the cleanest in the country.
George Eustice MP said, “It’s great that across the constituency and more broadly the peninsula, that our waters have been given a 100% pass rate for the third successive year. I know that there are many people who work hard to keep our waters clean and these results are further evidence of this success. This is great news for all those who swim, partake in water sports or even just admire some of the great views across the peninsula."
