George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle, has today challenged the Home Secretary on the effectiveness of a two year pilot scheme for Seasonal Agricultural Workers.
At Home Office Questions, George continued his campaign for the Home Office to convert the planned pilot on a seasonal agriculture workers scheme into a fully-fledged one. The UK successfully ran a scheme from 1945 to 2013 so George has argued that there is little need for a pilot scheme. George has argued previously that one of the achievements of the Conservative led government after 2010 was its success in creating jobs. Levels of employment are at record levels but businesses across many sectors report real challenges recruiting staff. The UK has no shortage of under-employed graduates. What it lacks is enough people willing to do hard graft and any coherent policy must recognise this.
