George Eustice MP is encouraging people to join him, and sign up to take part in the UK’s biggest pink fundraiser. Breast Cancer Now’s flagship fundraiser, Wear it Pink, will see thousands of people across the UK add a splash of pink to their outfits on Friday 20th October to raise vital funds for breast cancer research.
The event is in its sixteenth year, and has raised over £30 million to date for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving research.
George joined fellow parliamentarians in Westminster recently to show his support for the thousands of people affected by breast cancer every year. Anyone can take part in Wear it Pink, which brings together schools, workplaces and communities.
George Eustice said “Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. One in eight women will face it in their lifetime, and every year around 11,500 women and 80 men lose their lives to the disease. The Wear it Pink campaign is a good way to raise awareness.
“Locally, St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle is leading the way in breast surgery, and is renowned nationally. We are fortunate to have such a national centre of excellence on our doorstep."
