George Eustice, local MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle recently met Amanda Stratford, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Cornwall to discuss a number of issues relating to health care.
With the NHS Long Term Plan and the Government’s proposals for social care both due to be published before the end of the year, this is a very important time for health and social care. These latest changes will significantly alter the way people use local hospitals, GPs and care services.
George said, "This was a great opportunity to meet with Amanda and discuss how together we can ensure our communities across Cornwall have their voices heard and acted on. The recent good news of the NHS Long Term Plan shows that the Government is committed to investing in our healthcare system.
Locally across Cornwall we are fortunate to have a number of excellent hospitals delivering high quality care to those who need it most. From St Michael's Hospital, which is already a national leader in breast surgery, to Camborne and Redruth Hospital which has a number of specialisms including stroke and prosthetics, residents have access to some of the best care possible."
