Last week George Eustice, Member of Parliament for Camborne Redruth and Hayle, visited Curnow School in Illogan. Curnow School is part of the Special Partnership Trust (SPT), a multi-academy trust comprising of the 4 special schools in Cornwall.
George met with the Headteacher of the School and some of the teaching staff to discuss some of the challenges that the school has faced since reopening post-lockdown.
Curnow School shares an amazing building and great facilities with Illogan School. Through their joint mission statement of ‘Two Schools, One Community’ they seek to create great opportunities to maximize and strengthen the benefits of inclusive working for both schools.
Following the visit, George commented, “It was brilliant to visit the Illogan site of the Curnow School recently to see some of the great work they are doing using nature and outdoor spaces as a teaching resource for children with special needs. The Sensory Trust has helped develop the programme which is working really well.
“Every year, I always try my best to visit all the schools in the constituency and it was great to see first-hand the work of the dedicated Curnow School Team recently.”
