George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has welcomed news that the Government has continued its work to eliminating rough sleeping in the term of this parliament and to fully enforce the Homlessness Reduction Act.
The Government has announced a national funding package of £263million in funding for local authorities designed to support them to deliver services to tackle homelessness. This is an increase in overall funding for homelessness of £23 million on the previous financial year.
This funding ensures local authorities are resourced to take action to prevent homelessness from occurring and implement the Homelessness Reduction Act. This funding is provided upfront and can be used flexibly as part of councils’ resourcing to achieve their homelessness strategies. Cornwall will receive a total of £1,344,022 to continue with its work in helping homeless people.
