Matt Hancock, the new Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has recently announced that the NHS in the South West of England is in line for a tech-funding boost of up to £40.3 million.
Cornwall itself is due to receive £4.23 million to help improve patient care, reduce workload on staff and make every pound go further. The funding boost comes as part of a wider half-a-billion pound investment in technology to improve patient care thereby improving efficiency, enhancing patient safety and helping more patients access health services at home.
George said, "This extra funding is excellent news for Cornwall. Not only will it help improve local healthcare services, it will make care better for patients as well as making life easier for staff. Technology offers us many exciting opportunities in providing better care for patients in the future."
