George was recently in Mawnan Smith where he visited The Old Smithy, and Craft Workshops. The Old Smithy is a central part of the history of Mawnan. It has been restored, and is once again a working forge, with Steven Wilson, the blacksmith, specialising in bespoke, contemporary metalwork.
George also met: Sheila McCann-Downes who produces traditional signage for business premises, shops, boats, public houses and private homes; Abigail Brown, a silversmith who specialises in traditional silversmithing techniques to create distinctive silver vessels, bowls and jewellery; and bespoke furniture maker Peter Steele, who creates beautiful and unique pieces of furniture that are designed to last.
