George Eustice has met with the Prime Minister and been appointed Minister of State at the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) following the election of the first Conservative majority Government in 18 years. Under the previous Government, George served as Parliamentary Under Secretary at DEFRA with responsibility for fish and farming and his new appointment with allow him to continue some of the work that has already been started.
George said of his appointment "I spent nine years working in the family business at Trevaskis Farm and I am delighted to be back as the Minister for Farming and Fisheries. These are both important industries in Cornwall and I think the experience I have gained both in my earlier career and as Minister over the last eighteen months means I can really support these vital industries"
