George Eustice recently joined volunteers taking part in a Marine Conservation Society’s clean up at Porthtowan Beach, as part of the charity’s Great British Beach Clean.
Data collected during the beach clean will allow the MCS to establish the main sources of litter on our coastlines. These events will help raise the profile of the issue of marine litter, and the subsequent threat it poses to the marine environment.
George said “Cornwall is famous for the beauty of its beaches and keeping them clean for both visitors and wildlife is a hugely important job. That is why I was pleased to take part in the Marine Conservation Society’s Great British Beach Clean on Monday, where I joined volunteers in helping to clean up litter at Porthtowan beach.”
