Last weekend, George Eustice visited the World Parrot Trust based at Paradise Park in Hayle to get a first-hand look at the conservation work which they do there.
Founded in 1989, the WPT operates in over 40 different countries and works to protect critically endangered Parrot species and their habitats. One of their current projects is to help restore the Macaw population in Bolivia and in 2013 six Cornish bred Macaws travelled from the UK to Bolivia as part of a ten year programme to help improve the specie’s long term survival.
