George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth and Minister of State at DEFRA, recently visited Bridge Farm in Redruth where he met with Farrier Simon Moore, his apprentice and a number other of local representatives to discuss some of the challenges facing the farrier industry. The key point of discussion was the introduction of a Farriers Bill to reform the Farriers Registration Council, in particular its disciplinary committees and the disciplinary process.
George Eustice said “It was really good to visit Bridge Farm to not only try my hand at making a horse shoe, but also to hear the issues that affect the profession and how the Government may be able help. I have met with the Farriers Registration Council previously and support the introduction of a bill to Parliament enabling the reform and modernisation of the FRC, and its disciplinary process.”
