George Eustice MP has written to the Housing Minister to request that a planning appeal for 226 new dwellings is recovered. The proposed development concerns land at Menehay Fields, Budock.
In his letter, George Eustice has cited a loss of green interface between Budock and Falmouth, the fact that there is adequate brownfield land upon which to build to fulfil local housing need, and the strategic importance of this decision which effectively threatens Budock’s status as a village.
George said “I have been contacted by numerous constituents about this appeal, and a petition in the village of Budock has attracted some 500 signatures. This is a decision of strategic importance, and I want to see the appeal recovered so that it gets the scrutiny that the circumstances warrant. I have always been clear that we must build on brownfield sites, rather than greenfield”.
