Recently, the Chancellor unveiled this year’s budget to Parliament in a measure that demonstrated that our balanced approach to the economy and your hard work is paying off.
This Conservative Government has been working to build a strong economy that ensures people the length and breadth of the United Kingdom have a bright future ahead. As a result of the hard work we have been able to build a stronger, fairer economy while helping people with the cost of living and investing in the public services on which we all rely.
This budget will see the lowest earners in society receive a pay rise of more than £2,750 a year and raising the personal allowance and the higher rate, giving a tax cut for 32 million people. The Chancellor also confirmed other measures that are helping keep the cost of living down and ensuring that your money goes further. A 23-30-year-old railcard will be rolled out across the network keeping travel fares low, fuel duty has been frozen for the ninth year in a row, and the cost of beer and spirits has been kept low.
The Chancellor also confirmed that we’ve given £84 billion, the largest ever cash commitment to the NHS, to making sure our hospitals can provide the care we all sometimes need. We all know that mental health problems can strike anyone, at any time, which is why £2 billion has also been allocated to provide mental health support in every major A7E department as well as new crisis services.
George said, “This budget has all been possible despite the state Labour left the country. Millions of lives have been transformed for the better by the choices the Conservatives have made, and this budget will ensure we carry on investing in Britain’s future. We are keeping taxes low, supporting public services, and reducing the deficit.”
