George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth, has today welcomed news that providers of 16-19 education such as further education and sixth from colleges will receive £400 million additional funding to train and teach our young people the skills they need for jobs in the modern economy.
The cash boost is the single biggest annual increase for the sector since 2010 and will help ensure that Cornish pupils across the county will receive the support they need.
George said, "This funding boost is great news for colleges which already give so much to our local communities. Here in Cornwall we are lucky enough to have some fantastic colleges and higher education providers such as Cornwall College providing fantastic education to young people. This investment will make sure we can continue to develop world-class technical and vocational education to rival countries on the continent so we have a highly skilled and productive workforce for the future."
