George Eustice, Member of Parliament for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has today welcomed confirmation of an additional £34,400,558 of Government funding for Cornwall Council.
Earlier this month the Government announced £1.6 billion of additional funding for local government to help them respond to coronavirus (COVID-19) pressures across all the services they deliver. Cornwall Council’s funding will be delivered in two tranches helping them to provide vital services to those who need it the most.
George said, "The confirmation of this additional funding will mean that vital services provided by the Council will continue to be provided particularly to the most vulnerable during these difficult times. The Government recognises the hard work that local authorities across the country are carrying out on a day to day basis and this further allocation of funds will be most welcome."
